Elden Ring wows critics

Last week saw the release of FromSoftware's latest blockbuster title, Elden Ring, and judging from critic reception, it is sure to be among the Games of the Year.

The developers, best known for the Dark Souls games, brought a new fantasy world, created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R Martin, to life.

Elden Ring launched to an almost perfect score of 97 on PlayStation 5, with no mixed or negative reviews from the 50 critic reviews done. The game also received an average of 95 on both PC and Xbox.

In many reviews, the game was being compared to Nintendo masterpiece, Zelda Breath of the Wild, with many critics claiming that Elden Ring may be one of the best video games ever made.

GRID Legends was another big title that landed last week, with the racing scoring a 77 on PlayStation, while dropping to 73 on Xbox.

The best new Switch game, according to critic scores, is Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, which earned an average score of 82.

Next week there are a few new titles scheduled, including the release of Shadow Warrior 3.
