Stalker 2 development paused due to war

GSC Game World has provided an update regarding Stalker 2's development after fans showed concern regarding the Ukrainian studio.

The company is based in Kyiv, an area that has been heavily targeted during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In an emotional video, GSC showed their work on motion capture for the game, and then explained that development had been paused due to the war.

However, the studio did confirm that they would continue after 'victory' in the war.

"Our country is forced to fight for its existence again. Seems like this is the price of freedom, GSC said in the video.

"This video is our answer to [the] 'How are you guys?' question. Now we are striving to help our employees and their families to survive.

"The game development shifted to the sidelines. But we will definitely continue. After the victory. Glory to Ukraine."

Stalker 2, which has now been renamed to Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl to make use of the Romanised Ukrainian version of the name, was originally set for release in December this year.
