FromSoftware still working on Dark Souls server issue

It has been around five months since a serious exploit to the Dark Souls servers brought them down, and FromSoftware have provided an updated.

PC Gamer revealed that a reddit user received an email from Bandai Namco which said that the servers would be back online "as soon as possible."

The servers were turned off when an exploit allowed other players to take over a user's PC, according to IGN.

The email to the user read: "I'm happy to confirm that the developers are actively working on resolving the issue in question and re-launching the Dark Souls servers for PC as soon as possible."

Of course, the statement is vague and doesn't give a clear indication as to what the timeframe could be. When addressing the matter initially, Bandi Namco had said, "PvP servers for Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls: Remastered have been temporarily deactivated to allow the team to investigate recent reports of an issue with online services."

The issue came about a month prior to the release of Elden Ring, which hasn't suffered as major of an issue to date. Though there was an incident where an infamous Dark Souls hacker reportedly forced illegal items into players' inventories to get them banned.
