Rocket League hits mobiles with ‘Sideswipe’ version

If mobile gaming is something you have steered clear of in recent years, then it may be time to change your mind with the full release of Rocket League Sideswipe.

Psyonix have rolled out their mobile version Rocket League, the smash hit title that took the esports world by storm.

The goal (pardon the pun) remains the same in that you use acrobatic moves with your car to smash around a giant steel ball and score against your opponent.

Sideswipe is with a side-on view of the action, and after some hands-on time using the standard touch controls, it is clear that a lot of work has gone into making the game accessible.

Expect similar menus to that of Rocket League on consoles and PC, with your garage, item shop, and other customisation options all on offer.

There is also a selection of modes, including 1v1, 2v2 and Hoops all available to play online or against bots.

It remains to be seen whether or not Sideswipe will have a similar impact in the mobile gaming scene, but it certainly seems to have all the ingredients that has made Rocket League so special in the gaming scene.

Download Rocket League Sideswipe for free on iOS or Android. Note that not all devices will be compatible with the title.
